Our Projects team is growing, and we're looking for a Senior Site Superintendent to join rcs construction in Sydney. This is a senior field leadership role for someone who thrives on complex, higher-risk, larger-scale work and takes pride in running a well-planned, protected, and highly organized site.
Working closely with the Project Manager, you'll own day-to-day site execution, from planning and trade coordination to safety, quality, and schedule performance. You'll also be a go-to resource and mentor for the site teams around you. If you lead by example, anticipate problems before they surface, and love seeing a project come together, this could be a great fit.
How you'll spend your day
Lead day-to-day site operations from start-up through turnover, with a focus on complex, higher-risk, and larger-scale projects.
Work with the Project Manager on schedules, 2-week lookaheads, labour needs, and recovery or resequencing plans when things shift.
Coordinate trades, subtrades, and suppliers to keep sequencing, access, deliveries, and milestones on track.
Champion safety on site, including toolbox talks, hazard assessments, and the rcs Safety First & Always program.
Ensure work meets contract documents, specifications, and approved submittals, and coordinate inspections and corrective actions.
Keep Procore current with daily logs, progress photos, RFIs, and deficiencies.
Plan site start-up, including logistics, temporary services, and site facilities.
Drive closeout, including occupancy walkthroughs, deficiencies, as-builts, O&M; documentation, and warranty support.
Mentor Site Superintendents, lead hands, and forepersons, and help keep rcs site standards consistent.
Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and inspectors, and elevate concerns with clear context and recommended next steps.
What will help you thrive
Minimum 10 years of progressive site supervision experience with a General Contractor, including leading complex projects
Gold Seal Certification – Site Superintendent designation
Strong understanding of construction processes, building systems, sequencing, quality control, and safety requirements
Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore)
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
Commitment to and alignment with rcs' core values: Accountability, Communication, and Teamwork (A.C.T.)
Why you'll love it here
Our Team: Genuine, down-to-earth people who care about each other and the work they do
Our Leadership: Approachable and appreciative, with a true open-door philosophy and a commitment to supporting every team member
Our Growth: Ongoing professional development opportunities and room to expand your impact
And, of course, the essentials: a competitive total compensation package, group health and dental coverage, an employer-matched retirement savings program, and access to our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). If rcs sounds like your kind of workplace and this position aligns with your goals, we can’t wait to connect.
