Shape financial accountability at Vancouver School Board through public-sector accounting, audit leadership, and internal controls in Vancouver. This is a 100% in-person position.
The Senior Manager, Finance provides strategic oversight across VSB’s core accounting operations. You will lead financial reporting, compliance, treasury, audit coordination, and control frameworks under Board policy, legislation, Ministry requirements, and public-sector standards. Your analysis supports senior leadership and Board decisions.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable VSB financial information
Develop and monitor internal control frameworks
Prepare financial commentary, reports, and accounting disclosures
Lead annual external financial statement and compliance audits
Maintain accounting policies,



procedures, systems, and reporting structures
Requirements: Relevant post-secondary education in finance, accounting, commerce, or business
CPA designation maintained in valuable standing
At least 10 years progressive financial management experience
Extensive financial statement and complex accounting analysis experience
Experience strengthening controls and ensuring regulatory compliance
Use sound judgment, audit leadership, and public-sector reporting expertise to strengthen accountability across Vancouver School Board operations.
