Support residents’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs as a Personal Support Worker with Extendicare in a full-time role.
This Health Care Aide position provides direct personal support and care to patients. You will assist with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming while following policies, procedures, work routines, and nursing care plans. Experience with dementia and palliative care is preferred.
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct personal support and care to patients
Assist with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming
Address physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs
Follow applicable legislation, policies, procedures, and work routines
Communicate positively with staff, residents, patients, and families
Requirements: Completed PSW, HCA, or CCA program meeting required standards
Long-term care or community home care experience preferred
Exposure to dementia and palliative care preferred
Knowledge of care planning systems and documentation
Ability to read, write, and understand English instructions
Bring compassionate direct care, communication, and documentation skills to Extendicare’s full time Health Care Aide team.
