The role supports patient meal service through tray setup, portioning, meal wagon delivery, collection, and unloading. It also includes dishwashing machine operation and cleaning, with patient safety and quality improvement integral to the work.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare food items according to established cooking methods
Set up patient trays and portion meals
Deliver meal service wagons to patient areas
Collect and unload meal service wagons
Operate dishwashing equipment and clean work areas
Requirements: Graduation from a recognized 12-month cooking program
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Robust verbal and written communication ability
Effective interpersonal skills with others
Physical ability to complete position responsibilities
Use cooking, tray preparation, meal delivery, and cleaning capabilities to serve Port Hardy Hospital patients.
