Position Overview Canadian Bavarian Millwork & Lumber Ltd. is seeking an experienced Moulder Operator to join our production team in Chemainus, BC.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining our Weinig Powermat moulder and related equipment to produce high-quality architectural wood products. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities Set up, adjust, and operate Weinig Powermat moulders, endmatchers, and sanders.
Read and interpret production specifications to ensure accurate profiles and dimensions.
Grade lumber and monitor production quality throughout each run.
Prepare, grind, and maintain knives, tooling, and cutterheads.
Perform profile matching, tooling adjustments, and troubleshooting.
Conduct routine equipment maintenance and identify mechanical issues.
Maintain organized tooling inventories and clean, safe work areas.




Follow company safety procedures and production standards.
Required Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience operating Weinig Powermat moulders or equivalent equipment.
Solid knowledge of moulder setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
Experience with knife grinding, tooling preparation, and profile matching.
Understanding of cutter geometry, wood species, and material characteristics.
Proficiency with standard woodworking machinery and shop tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in high-volume lumber remanufacturing or custom architectural millwork.
Familiarity with NLGA/R-List lumber grading standards.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
Experience training or mentoring junior operators.
