The Practice Nurse works within a multidisciplinary team to provide essential and enhanced services. Duties include chronic disease management, vaccinations, cervical screening and wound care. Care is delivered according to qualifications, training and competence.
Key Responsibilities: Provide general nursing care, assessments and treatment room services
Complete reviews for diabetes, asthma and COPD
Administer vaccinations and immunisations under current guidance
Deliver wound care, dressings and nursing procedures
Maintain confidential records using the clinical system
Requirements: Work within the NMC Code and professional standards
Practise within competence and seek advice when required
Maintain professional registration and mandatory training
Complete continuing career development and appraisal activities
Follow safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection requirements
Use primary care nursing, chronic disease review and preventative healthcare skills to provide safe, patient-centred practice care.
