Support secure waste management with KBL in Whitehorse as a Labourer Driver, operating equipment and following hazardous-material protocols outdoors. This position reports to the Lead Hand within Waste Services.
Under Lead Hand and Facility Manager supervision, you will identify, prepare, and repackage waste for transport under Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations. The work includes equipment operation, truck loading, customer service, and accurate documentation. You will also work independently in remote locations and travel for project tasks.
Key Responsibilities: Handle and prepare waste according to legislation and TDG regulations
Inspect equipment and complete daily maintenance
Load and unload trailers and manage drop-offs
Complete load sheets and inventory reports accurately
Report near misses and incidents promptly
Requirements: Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and clean driving record
Class 3 driver’s licence considered a strong asset
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
Safety-minded, reliable, punctual, and dependable approach
Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions
