Cambridge Memorial Hospital seeks an Acute Mental Health Registered Nurse for comprehensive care across Emergency and inpatient services. This position includes all shifts and changing posted hours.
The RN serves patients in an acute Schedule 1 Mental Health setting, supporting crisis care, inpatient treatment, and discharge. Responsibilities include assessment, care plan development, medication, health promotion, and connections with regional and community resources. The RN works with psychiatrists, nurses, allied providers, and CMH programs to coordinate appropriate mental health services. Care focuses on timely disposition and protected transitions for patients with mental illness, concurrent disorders, and addictions.
Key Responsibilities: Provide acute mental health assessment and crisis care




Develop individualized care plans and support health promotion
Facilitate transitions to inpatient and outpatient services
Plan discharges using appropriate community resources
Coordinate care with CMH programs and inpatient units
Requirements: One to three years’ recent acute Schedule 1 experience
College of Nurses of Ontario registration required
Knowledge of Mental Health Act and community resources
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to attend work regularly and respond to Code White
Use acute mental health nursing, care planning, and resource coordination skills to support patients at CMH in Cambridge.
