Help people secure permanent housing across Durham Region through advocacy, tenancy support, and coordinated community-based services. The role serves Clarington clients.
As a Housing First Worker, you will provide housing-focused case management for individuals referred through the Region of Durham By-Name List. You will help clients identify goals, address barriers, understand tenant responsibilities, and strengthen housing stability through client-centred, strengths-based, and culturally responsive practice.
Key Responsibilities: Advocate with landlords and housing providers
Support clients with tenancy concerns and tenant rights
Facilitate community, health, legal, and income referrals
Respond to crises using approved de-escalation practices




Build collaborative relationships with community partners
Requirements: Related post-secondary education in social services or mental health
Housing, tenancy stabilization, or homelessness support experience
Robust advocacy, crisis intervention, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to manage caseloads and meet documentation deadlines
Proficiency with Office 365 and electronic databases
Bring housing advocacy, crisis response, and service coordination skills to help clients establish and maintain safe, stable homes.
