Use crisis intervention and behaviour management skills supporting shelter residents at Red Door's Family Site/Booth in Toronto. This full-time contract follows rotating shifts.
The Shelter Support Worker assists families experiencing homelessness through emergency intakes, daily support, and secure shelter operations. You will address daily living issues, document case progress, and respond to unacceptable behaviour. Red Door values quality care, advocacy, collaboration, integrity, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities: Support clients with daily living and precipitating issues
Provide behaviour management and crisis intervention
Oversee common areas and address unacceptable behaviour
Report maintenance issues and urgency to Maintenance Worker




Maintain linen supplies and coordinate replenishment
Requirements: Demonstrated commitment to excellent client service
Social services education or equivalent experience preferred
Ability to work positively within a multidisciplinary team
Initiative and reliability in shelter operations
Ability to perform housekeeping procedures
Apply crisis intervention, behaviour management, and client service skills to support Red Door residents through daily shelter needs.
