Working in Surgical Unit 6 Mary Grace, you will provide nursing care that helps clients attain or maintain optimal function. The role includes supportive, preventive, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitation approaches. You will recognize changes in complexity, consult Registered Nurses, and follow SJHH policies, values, and College of Nurses standards.
Key Responsibilities: Assess client needs and determine appropriate nursing care
Recognize changes in acuity or care complexity
Consult Registered Nurses regarding next care steps
Provide supportive and therapeutic nursing interventions




Promote recovery through patient-centred surgical care
Requirements: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Accredited practical nursing diploma or certificate
Required medication and intravenous medication education
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support or HCP certification
Demonstrated ability to practice within nursing scope
Bring assessment, therapeutic care, and qualified nursing practice to a full-time surgical unit position in Hamilton.
