Prepare timely meals for AgeCare residents while applying safe food handling practices in a long-term care residence. Maintain sanitary work areas.
The Cook supports meal preparation and service within AgeCare’s long-term care residence. This position checks special diet orders, addresses resident and family concerns, and supports Food Services operations. Prior cooking experience, food preparation training, and a Safe Food Handling Certificate are required.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare proper meals for residents
Serve meals on time
Check special diet orders for new admissions
Respond to resident and family member concerns
Maintain safe and sanitary work areas
Requirements: Prior Cook experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity
Current provincial Protected Food Handling Certificate
Minimum public-school education
High school education preferred
Diploma, certificate, or equivalent in quality food preparation and production
Bring cooking experience, dietary order awareness, and food safety credentials to AgeCare’s resident-focused Food Services department.
