This term position supports SRCE school operations from November 16, 2026, through January 31, 2027, and may be extended. The Building Operator manages preventive maintenance, repairs, energy systems, safety systems, and building usage. Work includes supporting schools across the Strait Regional Centre for Education jurisdiction.
Key Responsibilities: Operate building energy management and safety systems
Oversee janitorial staff and assigned duties
Complete preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs
Maintain records, work orders, inventories, and security logs
Support rentals, events, emergencies,



and weekend coverage
Requirements: Red Seal building trade certification or third class power engineer license
Five years maintaining and repairing building systems
Experience with DDC controls and energy management systems
Solid communication, organization, technology, and computer skills
Current WHMIS, CPR, and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
Use maintenance, safety, and building systems expertise to support SRCE schools and student learning environments throughout northeastern Nova Scotia.
