Practice acute medicine nursing at Vancouver General Hospital with VCH, applying patient assessment and intervention skills within an interdisciplinary team.
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide care to assigned Acute Medicine patients using best practices. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while supporting discharge planning and client advocacy. The position includes teaching clients and families about illness, injury, health promotion, and wellness. You will document care, respond to incidents, collaborate with health care providers, and maintain clinical competence. Practice follows BCCNM standards, VCH policies, and client and family centred care.
Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate Acute Medicine patient care
Participate in discharge planning and advocate for clients
Teach clients and families about illness, wellness,



and health promotion
Document care and respond to incidents according to policies
Consult and collaborate with interdisciplinary health care providers
Requirements: Current practicing BCCNM registration as a Registered Nurse
Acute Medicine nursing practice with complex diseases and therapies
Knowledge of relevant pathophysiology and clinical situations
Ability to perform assessments, interventions, and care planning
Competence with infusion devices, IV therapy, and documentation systems
