Support hatchery sanitation and Inovo egg transfer at Maple Leaf Foods. This student position requires dependable teamwork and repetitive lifting.
As a Hatchery Student, you will work in a team rotation supporting cleaning, disinfecting, and egg transfer activities. The work includes washing chick boxes, sanitizing the box room and box washer, and cleaning rooms and equipment after Inovo transfers. Success requires working in small groups with minimal supervision while maintaining consistent performance in repetitive tasks. Additional hours may be required during statutory holidays and summer vacation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash chick boxes and sanitize the box room
- Clean and disinfect the box washer
- Assist with Inovo egg transfer as required
- Complete transfer sanitation after work
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Work additional hours during holidays and summer vacation
- Lift 30 to 50 pounds repetitively overhead
- Work in wet and humid conditions
- Stand for long periods during assigned duties
- Work quickly through repetitive tasks with minimal supervision
