Our client is seeking a creative Design Engineer for specialized miniature automation systems in Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA. The position focuses on small mechanisms, actuators, precision components, and high-precision applications. You will collaborate with R&D;, electrical engineers, and software developers while supporting prototyping and validation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Design complex small mechanisms, actuators, and precision components
Perform tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability
Create engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs
Support prototyping, testing,
and mechanism validation
Resolve miniaturization, friction, and precision movement challenges
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum three years of mechanical design experience
Solid experience with small mechanisms or micro-actuation systems
Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Onshape
Ability to commute to Kimberley for required onsite sessions
Apply precision engineering, 3D CAD, and analytical design skills to miniature automation systems in Kimberley’s hybrid setting.
