Overview

Vodaland Canada Inc. is a leading supplier of drainage and water-management products across Canada, including trench drains, oil-water separators, catch basins, and related infrastructure solutions.

We are looking for a Technical Specification Specialist – Civil & Drainage to join our team in Mississauga.

This role is focused on providing technical support to engineers, designers, contractors, and other industry professionals, while building long-term professional relationships with engineering firms. The position combines technical product knowledge, engineering support, CAD work, and product specification.

This is not a traditional sales role. Quoting, commercial negotiations, and closing projects are handled by our dedicated project management team.

Responsibilities:

Engineering & Technical Support

- Serve as a technical resource and trusted point of contact for engineers and design professionals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering firms and support product selection and specification.
- Prepare product recommendations, CAD layouts, and basic flow/capacity calculations for Engineer of Record review.
- Support the specification of Vodaland products as the Basis of Design.

Product & Technical Documentation

- Develop strong knowledge of Vodaland's drainage and water-management products and their applications.
- Provide technical documentation, product data, CAD/BIM files, installation information, and other resources to engineering and construction professionals.
- Review and maintain technical product information to ensure it is accurate and up to date.

Industry & Regulatory Knowledge

- Stay current with Canadian construction practices, drainage requirements, applicable codes, standards, and municipal requirements.
- Support the team with technical and regulatory questions related to product applications.

Internal Collaboration

- Work closely with sales, project management, and product teams to provide technical support throughout the design and specification process.




- Assist with technical questions and product applications from initial design through project development.

Qualifications:

Required

- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, construction, drainage, building products, applications engineering, or a related field.
- Basic to strong understanding of hydraulics, water flow, drainage, plumbing, or related systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional and relationship-oriented approach when working with engineers and industry professionals.

Assets

- CET or EIT designation.
- Experience with Civil 3D, Revit, BIM, or similar software.
- Experience with stormwater management, trench drainage, catch basins, oil-water separators, or similar products.
- Experience working with engineering consultants, contractors, or construction/product manufacturers.
- Familiarity with Canadian building codes and construction standards.

This position includes an annual performance bonus.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
