Kanex Industries is a Canadian-owned steel fabrication and installation specialist based in Langley. With over 18 years of expertise, we reliably deliver high-quality structural and miscellaneous steelwork across the industry.
We are seeking a skilled Steel Fabricator/Welder with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to join our energetic team. In this role, you will be responsible for reading drawings & receiving, cutting, fitting, welding and shipping a variety of assemblies across residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Your reliability and attention to detail will ensure we deliver the high-quality products our customers expect.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
Operate Forklift for shipping/receiving
Clear understanding and interpretation of shop drawings
Accurately measure and cut materials according to shop drawings/cut lists
Fabricate structural and miscellaneous steel components safely and efficiently
Perform FCAW and GMAW welding processes
Maintain high standards of safety and quality
Lead material and workflow through the shop
Support and Mentor apprentices and assist with their skill development
Maintain an organized and clean work setting
Collaborate with office and field team members on project timelines and issues
Qualifications and Requirements:
Documented Red Seal Fabricator certification
5 years of fabrication experience
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid FCAW CWB Certificate
Robust ability to interpret shop drawings
Strong knowledge in mathematics and unit conversion
Strong knowledge of tools and machinery
Ability to lift 50lbs
Valid Class 7 forklift ticket
Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Experience:
Proven experience in Steel Fabrication: 5 years (required)
Proven experience in Welding FCAW required (GMAW is an asset)
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading
Strong knowledge of tools, plasma cutting, machinery (ironworker and band saw)
Ability to safely operate Forklift
