Job Summary

As a Drywall Taper, prepare drywall surfaces for a smooth, finished appearance. Apply joint compound and tape, address imperfections, and coordinate work with colleagues to help keep projects moving and ready for finishing.

Duties

- Apply tape and joint compound to drywall seams, corners, and fasteners; smooth surfaces between coats.
- Sand, patch, and caulk surfaces as needed, preparing areas for construction painting and other finishing work.
- Read blueprints and follow project instructions to understand layouts, dimensions, and finish requirements.
- Maintain an orderly work area, care for tools, and coordinate with colleagues to resolve surface issues. Your impact: consistent, well-prepared surfaces help the team deliver a clean, professional finish.

Practical drywall skills, careful application of tape and compound, surface preparation, and attention to detail are essential for producing smooth, paint-ready finishes. The role also calls for safe, organized work habits and the ability to follow project instructions and coordinate with others.

Preferred: Construction experience, including carpentry or handyman work, is helpful. Familiarity with construction painting, caulking, and blueprint reading can support effective preparation and finishing across varied project tasks.

Pay: $17.00-$26.00 per hour
