Bright Beginnings Child Care (BBCC) requires an energetic and motivated Registered Early Childhood Educator/Assistant. As a Registered Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will provide temporary, on-call support in our early childhood classrooms. You will work closely with the team and children to create a secure, engaging, and supportive environment. This role is perfect for an individual who enjoys variety, can step into various classroom settings, and is committed to supporting the growth and well-being of young learners.

Responsibilities

- Under the direction of the Supervisor/RECE facilitate activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program
- Provide nutritious snacks and lunches
- Provide adequate equipment and activities
- Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times
- Administer culturally appropriate programs and activities
- Administer activities that introduce math and literacy concepts
- Be familiar with emergency procedures
- Ensure children are supervised at all times
- Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and storytelling
- Provide opportunities for sleep and rest time
- Build children's self esteem
- Establish routines and provide positive guidance
- Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable
- Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand
- Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities and their child's progress
- Maintain current, accurate and confidential client files
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating,



dressing and toileting habits
- Discuss progress or problems of children with parents and other staff members
- Attend meetings and workshops to develop and discuss new teaching methods
- Reads, understand and abide by all policies of BBCC, including emergency, fire, serious occurrence, prohibited practices and child abuse procedures.
- Assist with other duties as requested by the Supervisor and/or Owner/Operator.

Skills

- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
- Proficient in computer skills for administrative tasks and lesson planning.
- Effective time management skills to balance teaching responsibilities and administrative duties.
- Experience working with children of all abilities is highly valued.
- Ability to create a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and growth.
- Strong communication skills in English to interact with children, parents, and staff effectively.
