We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support financial operations for a busy media environment in Toronto, Ontario. This Long-term Contract position will partner with production, studio operations, HR, IT, and finance teams to keep project finances organized, maintain accurate billing and payment activity, and support budget oversight for freelance and vendor-related work. The successful candidate will bring strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to coordinating financial processes across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate with studio teams, HR, and IT to establish freelancers in the required financial and production systems so they can begin work efficiently.
- Lead onboarding support for freelance workers, including guidance on weekly processes and training on submitting job requests, purchase orders, and related financial documentation.
- Monitor completion of required training and approvals for freelancers, and work with internal partners to resolve access or system issues when they arise.
- Partner with studio and production leadership to forecast annual freelance resource needs and maintain associated budget plans for review and approval.
- Facilitate regular billing and financial review meetings with project stakeholders to track costs, resolve discrepancies, and support accurate reporting.
- Review vendor and freelancer invoices for completeness, obtain the necessary approvals, and coordinate timely submission for payment processing.
- Verify that freelancer time is charged to the correct projects each week and collaborate with producers to address missing or inconsistent entries.
- Support project financial administration by assigning or managing job numbers, maintaining accurate project statuses, and responding to billing-related questions from studio staff.
- Prepare and route financial request documentation for approvals, maintain organized tracking records, and contribute to ad hoc reporting as needed.
- 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial analysis, ideally within advertising,



marketing, media, or a related creative environment.
- Postsecondary education in business, finance, accounting, or a similar discipline; a degree is considered an asset.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, invoice processing, financial reporting, and general accounting activities.
- Familiarity with accounting software and financial systems, including tools used for payroll, purchasing, or project-based cost tracking.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across production, operations, HR, IT, and finance teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail when managing multiple deadlines and financial records.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and handle changing priorities with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset.
- Experience supporting freelance administration or field production finance is considered an asset.
