We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Taper/Drywaller to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for finishing drywall surfaces and applying taping and drywall compound to create smooth, seamless walls and ceilings that meet high-quality standards. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life by ensuring flawless finishes and preparing surfaces for painting or other finishes. Responsibilities
- Apply drywall sheets accurately, ensuring proper placement and secure fastening according to project specifications.
- Tape joints between drywall panels, creating smooth transitions free of seams or imperfections.
- Cover taped joints with drywall compound (mud), feathering edges for a seamless finish.
- Sand finished surfaces to achieve a smooth, even texture ready for painting or finishing work.
- Install corner beads, trims, and other finishing elements to enhance the durability and appearance of walls.
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to ensure cohesive progress on construction sites.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in drywall installation, taping, and finishing within a construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, drywall techniques, caulking, and surface preparation.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Handyman experience with general repair skills is a plus.
- Familiarity with safety protocols on construction sites and ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality finishes.
