METAL FABRICATOR | COURBEAU WELDING & FABRICATION LTD.

Position Summary

The Metal Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and fabricating metal components and structures according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications. This position requires a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced welding and fabrication shop. The successful candidate will take pride in producing quality workmanship while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Measure, mark, cut, bend, and shape metal materials using various tools and equipment.
- Prepare metal components for welding and assembly.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, saws, shears, press brakes, grinders, and other shop machinery.
- Fit, align, and assemble metal parts and structures according to specifications.
- Perform tack welding and assist with welding operations as required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean and organized workspace.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Work collaboratively with welders, shop personnel, and management to meet production deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience in metal fabrication or a related trade is MANDATORY.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and measurements.
- Knowledge of metalworking tools, equipment, and fabrication processes.




- Robust mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and calipers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including lifting, bending, standing, and working with metal materials.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a welding and fabrication shop environment.

Exposure to noise, heat, sparks, dust, and metalworking equipment.

Use of appropriate personal protective equipment is required.

Position may require occasional overtime depending on workload and production schedules.

Education & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous metal fabrication experience is MANDATORY.
- Welding or fabrication-related training is MANDATORY
- A combination of education, training, and practical experience will be considered

SUCCESSFUL CANDITATES MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR IN PERSON SKILL TESTING AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE AT OUR LOCATION IN MARTENSVILLE, SK.

Reports To: Shop Foreman / Production Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: COURBEAU WELDING & FABRICATION LTD.

Pay: $20.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
