Role Description This full-time Truck Driver role is an on-site position based in Gaborone.

The Truck

Driver will operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to various destinations, following assigned routes and schedules. Daily responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, securing and unloading cargo, maintaining accurate delivery documentation, and communicating with dispatch and clients as needed. The role requires adherence to all DOT and local transportation regulations, keeping the vehicle clean and in good working order, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns.

Driver is expected to support timely deliveries, demonstrate professional conduct on the road and at customer locations, and contribute to a positive and safe working environment.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong truck driving skills, including experience operating commercial trucks and handling various road and weather conditions.
- Candidates should possess CDL Class A qualifications or equivalent licensing required for operating heavy trucks in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Candidates should possess skills in cargo handling and unloading, including secure lifting practices and proper load securing techniques.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of DOT regulations and other applicable transportation and safety rules, with a commitment to strict compliance.
- Candidates should possess a clean driving record, strong attention to safety, and the ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Candidates should possess good communication and teamwork skills, reliability, and the ability to follow schedules and instructions accurately.
- Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as a professional truck driver is highly beneficial.
