Service setting — In-home occupational therapy

Job Description

Heartful ABA Services is looking for a registered Occupational Therapist to support children and their families through in-person home visits across the GTA. Client referrals will be matched to the areas you serve and your availability.

The OT will assess how children participate in everyday activities and work with families to set practical, individualized goals. Depending on the child’s needs, sessions may focus on dressing, feeding routines, handwriting, play, fine motor skills, or participation in home and school routines.

Role and Responsibilities

- Assess strengths and needs. Observe the child during everyday activities, gather caregiver input, and identify what helps or limits participation.
- Develop and deliver individualized treatment plans. Set measurable goals with the family and provide occupational therapy in the home.
- Coach caregivers. Demonstrate strategies and suggest adaptations, equipment, or activities that fit the family’s daily routines.
- Monitor progress. Document assessments and sessions,



review outcomes, and update goals and recommendations as needed.
- Collaborate with the care team. With appropriate consent, coordinate with ABA providers, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals involved in the child’s care.
- Lead OT clinical decisions. Take responsibility for occupational therapy assessment, treatment planning, and recommendations. Heartful ABA Services will coordinate referrals and administrative communication.

Qualifications

- Active registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
- Active professional liability insurance covering in-home pediatric occupational therapy services. Proof of coverage is required before seeing clients.
- Ability to travel to clients’ homes within your selected GTA service areas
- Strong assessment, documentation, and caregiver communication skills
- Experience in supporting autistic children and children with developmental differences is preferred

Pay: $130.00-$150.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.0 per week
