Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and energetic Girls’ Gym Teacher to join our physical education department. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate physical education lessons for elementary and/or middle school girls. The teacher will also promote healthy living, teamwork, and the development of physical literacy and personal fitness in line with Islamic values.

This role requires creating a safe, respectful, and motivating environment where all students feel empowered to participate and grow in their physical abilities while upholding modesty and character in accordance with Islamic principles.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and deliver dynamic physical education lessons aligned with the Ontario Health & Physical Education Curriculum.
- Design age-appropriate activities that develop physical literacy, coordination, strength, and fitness.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respectful conduct among students.
- Integrate Islamic values, modesty,



and character development into PE routines and classroom culture.
- Ensure student safety at all times and manage classroom behavior effectively.
- Evaluate student progress and provide feedback using a variety of assessment tools.
- Organize and oversee physical activities, intramural events, or health-related initiatives.
- Collaborate with school staff and administration to support student well-being and school-wide goals.
- Maintain gym equipment and ensure its proper and safe use.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, school events, and professional development sessions.

Qualifications & Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field (B.Ed. with PE specialization preferred).
- OCT certification or eligibility for certification (preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching physical education, ideally with girls in an Islamic or values-based setting.
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Health & Physical Education Curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to create a respectful and inclusive PE setting.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Islamic values, dress code, and gender-specific needs in physical education.
- Current Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification (required).




- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and encourage students of all skill levels and backgrounds.
