Responsibilities/Tasks:

The P.Eng / Senior Estimator will work closely with project teams to develop estimates that support bidding, procurement planning, and construction budgeting. Estimates must be prepared at a sufficiently detailed level to support purchasing decisions and project execution.

This includes, but is not limited to:

- P. Eng
- Preparation of thorough, accurate and timely estimates
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine the overall estimated cost of a project
- Participate in the presentation and review of estimates
- Undertake and / or manage material take-offs
- Provide assessment of estimating accuracy and prepare relevant analyses
- Research, accumulate, evaluate and document historical cost data and compile summary; reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates
- Prepare estimates of probable costs of material, labor, and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications
- Examine and analyze designs and provide direction on anticipated value engineering
- Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:

· Minimum of 5 years of “Hands-on” experience in the capacity of a Senior Estimator or similar role.



This experience should include a full range of project delivery methods including tenders and construction management.

· Experience using Bluebeam

· Strong computer background including experience with MS Office and related estimating software;

- Manage a small team of estimators / surveyors
- Technical knowledge of modern construction practices, techniques, and equipment, understanding of construction documents
- Knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing;
- Strong understanding of construction materials, labour costing, equipment pricing, and subcontractor pricing structures.

· Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Estimate, Engineering or related field.

· Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and 3D modelling files to develop accurate cost estimates.

o Experience extracting labour rates and cost assumptions from industry manuals and technical documentation.

o Strong computer-based workflow with the ability to work independently while developing detailed estimates.

o Ability to step directly into the role with minimal training.

The successful candidate should also be comfortable leveraging modern digital tools and emerging AI-supported technologies to improve estimating efficiency and accuracy.
