Appointment Details The base salary range for Contract Lectures hired August 16, 2026 through August 15, 2027 is $79,644.07 to $101,855.82 per annum.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

Contract amounts are calculated based on the number of semester hours in the appointment. a) A full workload half-sessional appointment is for 15 hours in any one semester. b) A reduced workload half-sessional appointment is for at least 9 but less than 15 semester hours in any one semester. c) A part-time hourly appointment / one semester is for less than 9 hours in any one semester. Qualifications Evidence may be requested for all categories.

Education A minimum of enrolment in a History Ph.D. program or related doctoral degree program; completed Ph.D. preferred.

Previous experience in teaching these or very similar courses is highly desirable.

Teaching Experience Teaching target or similar course at TMU graduate program.

Teaching target or similar course at other university graduate program.

Teaching target or similar course at TMU undergraduate program or another university undergraduate program.

Teaching target course at College.





Teaching Skills Demonstrated experience of ability to effectively teach in an online environment which includes demonstrated knowledge of best practices for the delivery and management of online courses, including using course management system tools to communicate with students and to foster and support a team-oriented online learning community with and between students in the course.

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of personal computers that are relevant to this course, including document creation, file management, internet research, and communications.

Practice field experience Current (past 3 years) practice in related field 6-10 (depends on quality of experience, including relevance to course, level of responsibility, relevant professional accreditation, etc.) Past (more than 3) years ago) practice in related field.

Currency Academic publications (refereed) in past 5 years.

Academic publications more than 5 years ago or current (less than 5 years) professional profile (including professional or academic presentations).
