We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join a growing IT software organization in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Long-term Contract basis. This hybrid opportunity is well suited to a hands-on, detail-oriented accountant who can work with a high degree of independence, contribute quickly, and support a dynamic finance function. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting period-end reporting, and partnering with internal teams across a multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including preparing journal entries, recording accruals, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting the month-end close process.
- Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts on a regular basis, identify variances, and resolve issues to maintain reporting accuracy.
- Coordinate intercompany accounting across multiple subsidiaries, ensuring transactions and shared costs are recorded in the correct legal entities.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and assist with consolidation activities for multi-entity reporting.
- Perform payroll-related reconciliations each month and prepare bonus accruals along with other required closing adjustments.
- Provide accounting support for U.S.-related entries and reporting requirements within the company’s financial workplace.
- Assist with quarterly financial reporting and deliver reliable accounting support to the Controller and wider finance team.
- Partner with FP& A and cross-functional stakeholders to supply financial data, respond to reporting needs, and support ongoing accounting initiatives.
- Support audit requests for subsidiaries and contribute to special projects and other ad hoc accounting assignments as needed.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience,



including strong exposure to full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities.
- Proven ability to complete account reconciliations, prepare financial statements, and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Experience working in a multi-entity structure with intercompany transactions and reconciliations is strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of accrual accounting, journal entries, payroll reconciliations, and financial reporting practices.
- Hands-on experience with an ERP system is required, and familiarity with Sage Intacct is highly desirable.
- Exposure to U.S.-related accounting matters would be considered an asset.
- CPA designation, or active progress toward completion, is preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to work efficiently with financial data and reporting schedules.
