About the Role
We're looking for a Tank Cleaning Supervisor to lead our crews in the field. You'll turn job plans into safe, well-run work:
- setting up sites
- running hazard assessments
- coaching operators
- keeping clients and management informed from mobilization to demob
This is a hands-on leadership role. It suits someone who knows tank work, knows how to run a crew, and knows that the people doing the work usually have the best answers about how to do it safely.
What You'll Do
- Plan and assign work, and coordinate crews and equipment. Make sure every job is scoped correctly and set up safely before work starts.
- Lead FLHAs/JHAs and toolbox talks. Make sure your crew knows they can stop unsafe work, and that you'll back them when they do.
- Supervise tank and vessel cleaning. This includes confined space entry on supplied air or SCBA, high-pressure washing, robotic cleaning, and waste handling and disposal.
- Train, mentor, and assess the competency of Operators and Swampers, and support their progression.
- Conduct site inspections, observations, and documentation checks. Take part in incident investigations and help put learnings and corrective actions in place.
- Serve as the day-to-day contact for clients: give updates, manage scope changes, and resolve concerns on site.
- Complete daily reports, field tickets, third-party billing, and safety documentation accurately and on time.
- Monitor Hours of Service, support scheduling, and keep equipment available and ready.
- Troubleshoot pumps, hydraulics, and cleaning equipment, and look for ways to make the work safer and more efficient.
What You Bring
Required:
- 5+ years of field experience in tank cleaning, industrial cleaning, vacuum/hydrovac, vessel work, rigs,
or a related oil and gas service
- 2+ years as a supervisor, foreman, or lead hand running crews on projects
- Working knowledge of confined space entry, breathing apparatus, chemical handling, and safe work procedures
- Mechanical aptitude with pumps and hydraulic systems
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and an acceptable driver's abstract
- Comfortable with long shifts, night work, and extended travel
- Able to work in a physically demanding environment, including regularly lifting 50+ lbs
Current safety tickets:
- Standard First Aid/CPR
- H2S Alive
- CSO
- WHMIS
- TDG
- Confined Space Entry
- Fall Protection
What Leadership Looks Like Here
We don't measure safety by the absence of incidents. We measure it by whether our crews have what they need to do the work well. Our supervisors:
- ask their crews what's getting in the way
- fix the work instead of blaming the worker
- treat mistakes and close calls as chances to learn
If that's already how you lead, you'll fit in here.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation
- Group perks: extended health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance
- RRSP matching
- Employee and Family Assistance Program
- Wellness program
- Paid time off
- Ongoing training and development
How to Apply
Apply through Indeed with your resume and a list of your current safety tickets. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
