About the Opportunity
We are looking for a technically minded, detail-oriented professional to support the remote monitoring, management, and ongoing maintenance of industrial electrical heat tracing systems.
This position combines electrical technical knowledge, data management, system monitoring, and customer service. You will work with industrial facilities to monitor system performance, maintain accurate equipment and operational records, investigate technical issues, and coordinate maintenance activities.
The ideal candidate has a background in electrical systems, exceptional organizational and data management skills, and enjoys working directly with customers to solve problems.
You do not need to be an expert in electrical heat tracing. We are willing to train the right individual who has a solid electrical foundation, strong computer skills, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Key Responsibilities
System Monitoring & Technical Support
- Monitor industrial electrical heat tracing systems, including system alarms, equipment status, temperature readings, and electrical performance.
- Investigate abnormal operating conditions and help identify potential equipment, controller, or communication issues.
- Apply practical electrical knowledge to understand and troubleshoot industrial electrical and heat tracing systems.
- Coordinate technical issues with customer maintenance teams, electricians, and field service personnel.
- Assist with remote configuration, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of monitoring and control systems.
Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate equipment databases, electrical circuit information, asset records, and system configurations.
- Review, organize, validate, and update large volumes of technical and operational data.
- Identify inconsistencies or errors in system data and ensure information remains accurate and reliable.
- Develop and maintain customer reports, maintenance records, issue logs, and system performance summaries.
- Work extensively with Microsoft Excel and other data management platforms to organize, analyze, and present technical information.
- Support customer maintenance management systems, including work orders, asset tracking, and maintenance follow-up.
Customer Service & Account Support
- Act as a key point of contact for assigned industrial facilities.
- Build strong working relationships with customer maintenance, operations, and engineering teams.
- Respond to customer questions, technical inquiries, and requests for assistance in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow technical issues from initial identification through resolution, ensuring customers receive regular updates.
- Participate in customer meetings and provide updates on system performance, outstanding issues, and recommended actions.
- Help identify opportunities to improve system reliability and maintenance practices.
Required Qualifications
Electrical Knowledge
- Practical experience or education in electrical systems is required.
- Understanding of electrical fundamentals, including voltage, current, resistance, electrical circuits, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with industrial electrical equipment, controls, and electrical heat tracing systems.
- Ability to understand electrical drawings, equipment documentation, and technical information.
- Previous electrical heat tracing experience is preferred, but extensive experience is not required.
Data Management & Computer Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage large amounts of technical data accurately.
- Solid Microsoft Excel skills, including organizing, filtering, validating, and analyzing data.
- Comfortable working with databases, software applications, and digital equipment management systems.
- Ability to learn new software platforms and technical systems quickly.
- Strong organizational skills, including maintaining records, tracking outstanding issues, and managing multiple priorities.
Customer Service & Communication
- Previous experience in a customer-facing, technical support, service coordination, or similar role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional, responsive, and comfortable communicating directly with industrial customers.
- Ability to explain technical issues clearly and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and following issues through to completion.
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical engineering technology, electrical technician, instrumentation, industrial maintenance, or related education or experience.
- Experience working with industrial electrical heat tracing systems.
- Familiarity with industrial control systems, temperature controllers, PLCs, or industrial communication networks.
- Experience with maintenance management systems such as SAP, IBM Maximo, or similar platforms.
- Experience with advanced Excel functions, data analysis, reporting, or asset management databases.
- Previous experience supporting industrial facilities, maintenance departments, or technical service operations.
What We're Looking For
Technical experience is important, but we place equal value on attitude, organization, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will be someone who:
- Is exceptionally organized and takes pride in keeping technical data accurate.
- Has a solid understanding of electrical systems and is eager to expand their knowledge.
- Enjoys working with computers, software, and technical information.
- Is comfortable communicating with customers and takes ownership of their requests.
- Can independently manage multiple tasks without losing track of details.
- Is curious, analytical, and willing to investigate problems rather than simply pass them along.
- Wants to develop their career in industrial technology, electrical systems, and remote equipment monitoring.
Additional Information
- Full-time position supporting industrial customers across North America.
- Primarily office-based, with remote monitoring and customer support responsibilities.
- Occasional travel to customer facilities may be required.
- Participation in a scheduled after-hours technical support rotation may be required.
- Training will be provided on specialized electrical heat tracing monitoring and management software.
If you have an electrical background, excellent data management skills, and a passion for customer service, we'd like to hear from you.
Pay: $46,500.00-$103,000.00 per year
