Job description
KadTek is growing and looking for talented professionals to join our team. We’re currently hiring a Junior Automation Specialist to support a variety of industrial automation projects and help deliver high-quality solutions to our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist in configuring and testing basic DCS, PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems under supervision
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, drawings, and reports
- Support testing activities by following established procedures and accurately recording results
- Assist experienced team members during commissioning and troubleshooting activities
- Shadow senior leadership during design reviews and client meetings to learn processes
- Provide general administrative and technical support for automation projects
- Contribute to project close-out by organizing test results and final documentation
- Be open to mentorship, trainable, and eager to learn new technologies
Desired Skills and Experience
- 0 - 3 years of experience in Industrial Automation (Oil & Gas preferred)
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a close team environment
- Engineering Degree, Technology Diploma or Journeyman Certificate
Technical Experience (Assets)
Experience in the following areas is considered an asset; not all are required:
- PLC: Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens
- DCS: Honeywell, Emerson, ABB, Siemens, Foxboro
- SCADA: GeoSCADA, VTScada, Ignition, Aveva Pi
- Other: OT networking, hosting and common services
