About AVI Design

AVI Design is a luxury smart home and AV integration company and a Savant Elite Ambassador. We design and install lighting control, shading, AV, security, access control and networking for high end residential projects across Toronto, the GTA and Muskoka, working closely with architects, builders and design professionals.

The Role

We are hiring a Senior Technician to lead installations and be the technical authority on our projects. You will run job sites, program and commission Savant and Lutron HomeWorks systems, and mentor our junior team, delivering work that meets the standard our clients expect.

What You Will Do

- Lead installations through pre wire, trim, rack build, programming and closeout
- Program and commission Savant and Lutron HomeWorks systems, with working knowledge of Crestron and Control4
- Build and configure racks and networks on Araknis and Netgear equipment, including VLANs and Wi-Fi
- Read drawings and schematics, and install exactly to AVI Design drawings
- Mentor junior technicians and set the quality standard on site
- Coordinate with our Project Coordinator, builders and trades




- Run punch lists, system testing, client walkthroughs and handover
- Care for company assets, including your company phone and computer, and represent AVI Design with polish in clients' homes

What You Bring

- 5+ years in home automation, AV integration or low voltage installation
- Hands on Savant and/or Lutron HomeWorks programming and commissioning experience
- Strong networking skills, with Araknis and Netgear experience preferred
- CEDIA certification (IST or ESC) and Araknis certification preferred, CompTIA Network+ an asset
- Proven ability to lead a job site and mentor others
- Professional presence and clear communication with clients, builders and trades
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Bilingual English and French is an asset

Pay: $22.90-$35.00 per hour
