The Saskatchewan Foster Families Association is looking for a caring, approachable, and motivated Foster Family Advocate to join our team for a six-month term position.

Foster parents play an incredibly key role in the lives of children and youth.

As a Foster Family Advocate, you'll be someone foster parents can turn to when they have questions, face challenges, or simply need someone to listen to. You'll help them work through concerns, find solutions, and feel confident in their role as caregivers.

What You’ll Do

- Build meaningful relationships with foster families across Saskatchewan.

- Provide guidance and support with placement concerns, reimbursement issues, case planning, and other challenges.

- Help foster parents navigate difficult situations; including conflict resolutions, investigations, and appeals.

- Attend meetings and connect with foster families throughout the province.

- Complete required reports and contribute to the work of the SFFA team.

- Maintain accurate, confidential, and organized documentation

Some travel throughout Saskatchewan, including occasional overnight stays, will be required.

What We're Looking For

- Post-secondary education in social work, human services, education, or a related field
- At least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working with families from diverse backgrounds (an asset)

- Someone who is a good listener, communicates well, and genuinely enjoys helping others.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage regular, recurring tasks and emergent situations.
- The ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Someone who can work independently while being part of a supportive team
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

What we Offer

At the SFFA, we value our employees and the important work they do. Our benefits package includes:

- Employer paid Health & Dental benefits, including Health Savings or Wellness and Healthy Living Accounts
- Paid sick time
- Earned Days Off (one every three weeks)
- Team building and training opportunities
- Meaningful work that supports families and strengthens communities

If you're someone who cares about people, believes in the importance of Foster Families, and wants to make a meaningful difference, we'd love to hear from you!

Typically Monday to Friday, 8-4:30, with occasional evenings and weekends as required.
