Overview

The Automotive Service Technician inspects, maintains, and repairs vehicles and related equipment, using mechanical knowledge, hand tools, and power tools to diagnose issues and complete service work. The role may involve automotive repair as well as work with industrial equipment, farm machinery, and heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and Caterpillar machinery.

Responsibilities

- Inspect equipment, interpret schematics, identify mechanical or electrical faults, and perform maintenance and repairs.
- Use hand and power tools for troubleshooting, component removal, assembly, and welding tasks.
- Support HVAC repairs and service work involving automotive and industrial systems.
- Operate heavy equipment safely when needed and handle physical tasks, including heavy lifting.
- Communicate service findings clearly and provide helpful customer service.

Qualifications

Required: Practical mechanical knowledge, safe use of hand and power tools, and the ability to perform automotive repair, maintenance, assembly, and physical tasks. Transparent communication and customer service skills support effective work with customers and colleagues. Preferred: Mechanic, dealership, electrical, HVAC, or welding experience, along with familiarity with schematics, Caterpillar equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, or heavy equipment operation.

Pay: $23.57-$46.03 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
