Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and versatile individual to join our kitchen and food production team. This hands-on position involves preparing a variety of homemade meals, ready-to-eat foods, and daily lunch offerings, while supporting the overall operations of our kitchen and meat department.

This is a diverse role where daily tasks and priorities may change based on the needs of the business. The ideal candidate enjoys working with food, takes pride in quality and consistency, and is comfortable taking on a variety of responsibilities in a busy, team-oriented workplace.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook, and assemble a variety of homemade meals, prepared foods, and daily lunch offerings.
- Set up, replenish, and maintain the daily hot lunch bar.
- Assist with food production, portioning, packaging, and labelling.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations, equipment, and preparation areas.
- Follow established recipes, quality standards, and safe food handling procedures.
- Assist with inventory rotation, food storage, and minimizing waste.
- Support general kitchen operations and assist the meat department with production and preparation as needed.
- Adapt to changing daily priorities and assist with other duties throughout the market as required.





Qualifications & Skills

- Previous kitchen, cooking, or food preparation experience is an asset.
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Dependable, efficient, and willing to take initiative.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment.
- Ability to work in various temperature environments, including refrigerated coolers and freezers, as required
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to assist wherever needed.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys preparing quality food, and understands the importance of teamwork. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are necessarily the same. Flexibility, efficiency, and a willingness to contribute wherever needed are essential to supporting the daily operations of our market.

Pay: $18.95-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 – 44.0 per week
