About us

We're a family of four — two parents and two school-aged kids — in Oak Bay, with a busy home that runs on quiet systems: laundry always put away, a kitchen that resets itself, a pantry that never runs out mid-recipe, a calendar that never double-books. We're looking for one person to own all of that — part meticulous housekeeper, part right-hand personal assistant.

About you

You're detail-oriented by nature: you notice the scuffed baseboard, the item expiring at the back of the fridge, the bin label that no longer matches what's inside — and you fix it without being told. You're a self-starter: when something needs doing, you don't wait to be asked, and what you fix stays fixed. You've worked as a personal assistant or run a busy household, so calendars, errands, bookings and logistics are second nature. You're fluent in English and communicate cleanly in quick texts and written lists.

You build systems that keep a home running beautifully even when you're not there.

What you'll own

Cleaning & home care

- Open the home each morning — coffee and tea on, kitchen reset underway
- Daily reset to a written standard: kitchen, counters, floors, beds, entryway and mudroom, bathrooms, garbage/recycling/compost
- A dedicated weekly laundry day: sorting, stain treatment, ironing, hanging, everything put away in the right rooms
- Weekly deep-clean rotation plus a monthly list: oven, fridge, vents, baseboards, interior glass, closets
- Weekly clean of our nearby schoolhouse space
- Household supplies: track, restock, keep an inventory you trust — nothing runs out twice

Personal assistance

- Own the family calendar — appointments, bookings, reminders — nothing slips or double-books
- Errands and household shopping: groceries, returns, pickups, deliveries
- Coordinate trades and service providers: get quotes, schedule the work, be here for it, check it before you call it done
- Stay ahead of small logistics before they become someone's problem — renewals, reservations, gift lists, seasonal prep

What we're looking for

- Detail-obsessed — you can point to something you caught, fixed, or systematized that others missed

- A self-starter who takes ownership — you finish what you start and you don't need reminding
- 2+ years of experience as a personal assistant, household manager, or a role with the same shape: high standards, busy calendar, no one checking over your shoulder
- Real cleaning competence — you know what a proper weekly deep clean covers, not just a tidy-up
- Fluent in English, spoken and written — our household runs on clear communication
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Physically comfortable with the work: full laundry days, stairs, lifting, active days
- Valid BC driver's licence and a reliable, insured vehicle
- Vulnerable-sector criminal record check before your first day

Nice to have: FOODSAFE Level 1 · First Aid/CPR · light cooking

What you can expect from us

Clear written standards from day one — never a guessing game. A weekly check-in where your list gets our full attention. Fair pay, real benefits, and a family that treats the person who keeps our home running as the essential professional they are.

How to apply

Tell us about one detail you caught that everyone else had missed — and what you did about it. Applications that answer that question move to the top of the pile.
