Job Summary

Our client is an established pipe, piling, and steel supply company serving the construction and energy sectors across Western Canada. They are opening a brand new yard facility in Didsbury, Alberta, and are hiring two full-time Yard Workers to join the founding site crew.

These positions are ideal for dependable, safety-conscious individuals who take pride in active, outdoor work and want to be part of setting up a new yard from the ground up. The team has openings for both an entry-level worker ready to learn the trade and an experienced yard operator capable of running heavy equipment.

What You’ll Do

Material Handling and Inventory Control

- Count, measure, and verify incoming and outgoing pipe and steel inventory against job orders
- Cut pipe accurately and safely to match specific customer requirements
- Organize yard stock to ensure inventory is stored correctly, secure, and accessible

Site Operations and Logistics

- Load and unload transport trucks, staging material efficiently for delivery and receipt
- Operate yard machinery, including loaders and forklifts, safely around ground crews and trucks
- Direct trucks, equipment operators, and ground personnel to keep site traffic flowing smoothly

Yard Maintenance and Safety

- Keep designated work zones, driving lanes, and access routes clean, clear, and hazard-free




- Follow all company safety protocols and report any site hazards or equipment issues immediately
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional yard setting

What You'll Bring

- Physically capable of continuous, labour-intensive outdoor work across all weather conditions
- High attention to detail when taking measurements, tracking numbers, and verifying materials
- Safety-first mindset with the willingness to speak up when something is unsafe
- Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, and a team-oriented attitude
- For the junior role: hands-on aptitude and a willingness to learn yard operations (prior warehouse or materials handling experience is an asset)
- For the experienced role: solid background in yard or steel handling, with proven loader operating experience (forklift certification is an asset)
- Based within practical commuting distance of Didsbury (such as Olds, Carstairs, Sundre, Airdrie, or surrounding areas)

This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new yard location with an established industrial supplier, working a steady Monday-to-Friday day shift with competitive hourly compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a practical, close-knit crew.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
