Ancaster Forest & Nature School is looking for a warm, dependable educator to join our team for daily midday coverage. You’ll work alongside our educators to give them time for lunch breaks and help children move comfortably from lunch into rest, quiet play, or afternoon exploration.
Our program blends indoor and outdoor learning in a Carolinian forest setting. We’re looking for someone who enjoys spending time outdoors, builds trusting relationships with young children, and can step into familiar classroom routines with care and confidence.
What you’ll do
- Provide lunch break coverage across classrooms as needed.
- Support children with mealtimes, handwashing, toileting, and rest routines.
- Supervise and engage children in indoor and outdoor play.
- Communicate with classroom educators at handoffs so each child receives consistent care.
What you’ll bring
- Experience working with toddlers or preschoolers in a group setting.
- A calm, responsive approach and the ability to work collaboratively across classrooms.
- Comfort working outdoors throughout the seasons.
- Current Standard First Aid and infant and child CPR, and the ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Protected Food Handlers certificate
