Job Summary

Landtran Logistics, an experienced provider of dedicated delivery, warehousing, cross-docking, and distribution services across Western Canada, is seeking energetic and dedicated Class 1 City Local Drivers to join our team in Edmonton.

We are looking for drivers specializing in medical deliveries and general pick-up and delivery (P&D;) services. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and various freight within the city, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. We offer our drivers a stable and enjoyable work environment, acting as our clients' internal transportation department with services provided Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of straight and articulated trucks, handling general freight and medical supply home deliveries within Edmonton and the surrounding areas. The role may occasionally involve overnight trips and warehouse duties, including loading your own truck. We are willing to provide mentorship and training to the right applicant.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers and 5Ton delivery trucks.




- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Navigate city routes confidently using route driving techniques to meet delivery schedules.
- Deliver medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and general freight directly to customer locations with professionalism and care.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for all shipments handled.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during shifts.

Experience

- Proven experience as a commercial driver with a focus on city local deliveries or similar roles involving freight transportation.
- Prior delivery driver experience in medical or sensitive freight is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heated trailers and other specialized vehicles.
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Experience with load & unload procedures and route driving in urban environments is essential.
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting freight or operating trucks with power tailgates.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$28.84 per hour
