Early Childhood Educator – OBLT Childcare

Start Date: as soon as possible

Wage: $30.00 per hour plus benefits available after successful completion of probationary period.

Job Description:

Working collaboratively with the childcare team in our safe and inclusive spaces. We provide a fun play-based learning environment with a strong connection to the adjacent elementary school.

Required Skills:

· Patient, fun, kind, flexible and energetic

· Able to plan and facilitate activities designed for young children in a play-based learning environment

· Able to develop and maintain positive working relationship with co-workers, children and their families.

· Able to work independently and as part of a team

· Demonstrate solid understanding of early child development and able to articulate knowledge to parents/caregivers in a non-judgmental and diplomatic way

· Very good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Education:

· Early Childhood Educator Certificate





· Infant/Toddler qualification/experience would be considered an asset (starting wage would be $31.00/hr)

Experience:

· Minimum of two years’ experience in licensed child care or StrongStart programs

Preferred Skills & Experience

· Training in the Early Learning Framework

· Experience with nature based early learning and literacy

Additional Information:

· Current ECE certificate to practice

· Current clear criminal records check is a hiring requirement

· Valid first aid certificate is a hiring requirement
