Purpose Of The Position

The purpose of the position is to develop, maintain, test, and improve Edge Factor’s web applications, websites, and related digital platforms. The role supports the company by writing and modifying web application code, integrating web systems with other applications, improving platform performance, maintaining website functionality, and ensuring that Edge Factor’s digital products remain reliable, secure, and scalable.

The position will contribute to both ongoing maintenance and new product development, working with internal stakeholders to translate business and user requirements into functional web-based solutions.

Reporting Line

The position will report to the Operations Director.

The role will work closely with product, design, operations, client success, and other technical contributors to ensure that web development work supports company priorities and customer needs.

Staff Or Contractors Supervised

This position is primarily a technical contributor role rather than a senior management role.

The employee may provide technical guidance to junior developers, contractors, or external service providers when required. This may include reviewing technical work, assisting with implementation questions, supporting onboarding, and helping ensure that development work follows Edge Factor’s coding, testing, security, and deployment standards.

Formal staff supervision, hiring, termination, or company-level management authority would only apply if specifically assigned by Edge Factor.

Technology Strategy and Planning

The position will participate in technology planning as it relates to Edge Factor’s websites, web applications, integrations, and development workflows.

Responsibilities include identifying technical improvements, recommending tools or frameworks, assessing feasibility of product requirements, estimating development effort, and helping plan web application enhancements that improve functionality, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

The role provides technical input into roadmap planning but is not primarily responsible for company-wide technology strategy.

Software Development Oversight

The position is responsible for developing, writing, modifying, integrating, and testing website-related code and web application interfaces.

Responsibilities include building new features, maintaining existing functionality, debugging issues, integrating third-party systems, improving application logic, supporting front-end and back-end web development, and ensuring that code is reliable, maintainable, and aligned with business requirements.

The role includes code review, support testing practices, document technical changes, and help maintain development standards across Edge Factor’s web platforms.

Cloud Infrastructure And DevOps Responsibilities

The position supports cloud infrastructure and DevOps activities related to Edge Factor’s web applications.

Responsibilities include assisting with deployment pipelines, environment configuration, cloud-hosted application services, monitoring tools, backups, build processes, and automation used to support web application delivery.

The role will work with internal or external infrastructure providers to troubleshoot hosting issues, improve deployment reliability, and ensure that web applications operate correctly across development, staging, and production environments.

Cybersecurity And Data-Protection Responsibilities

The position will support cybersecurity and data-protection requirements within the scope of web development.

Responsibilities include applying secure coding practices, assisting with access-control implementation, addressing vulnerabilities, protecting user and company data within web applications, supporting privacy and confidentiality requirements, and helping ensure that integrations and third-party services are used securely.

The role will participate in security reviews, bug fixes, incident investigation, and implementation of improvements to reduce technical and data-protection risks.

Systems Architecture

The position will participate in web application architecture and design in collaboration with company stakeholders, designers, developers, and external providers.

Responsibilities include contributing to decisions about application structure, APIs, databases, integrations, user flows, front-end architecture, back-end services, and technical patterns used in Edge Factor’s web platforms.

The role is expected to support architecture decisions that improve scalability, maintainability, performance, and user experience.

Platform Reliability And Performance

The position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving website and web application functionality.

Responsibilities include investigating bugs, analyzing application performance, improving response times, resolving production issues, monitoring system behavior, testing user interface experiences, and identifying areas for technical improvement.

The role helps ensure that Edge Factor’s web platforms remain available, functional, productive, and usable for customers and internal users.

Release And Deployment Management

The position will support the release and deployment of web application updates.

Responsibilities include preparing code for release, testing changes, supporting deployment processes, monitoring releases, resolving post-release issues, documenting changes, and assisting with rollback or correction plans where required.

The role will coordinate with product, operations, and technical team members to ensure that releases are delivered in a controlled and reliable manner.

Vendor And Technology-Partner Management

The position may interact with vendors, contractors, hosting providers, software platforms, and technology partners where their services affect Edge Factor’s web applications.

Responsibilities include providing technical information, troubleshooting integration issues,

reviewing implementation requirements, assessing third-party tools, and supporting the company’s use of external platforms or services.

The role may make technical recommendations regarding vendors or tools but would not normally hold final company-level vendor authority unless assigned by management.

Budget Or Purchasing Authority

This position may recommend technology purchases, tools, subscriptions, hosting resources, or third-party services needed for web development and platform maintenance.

Final budget approval and purchasing authority would remain subject to Edge Factor’s internal approval process.

The role will provide technical input on cost, suitability, security, performance, and operational value when evaluating software or infrastructure purchases.

Product-Development Involvement

The position will be involved in product development for Edge Factor’s web-based platforms.

Responsibilities include translating product requirements into technical tasks, developing features, estimating work, identifying technical constraints, improving user-facing functionality, integrating application components, and supporting testing and release of new product capabilities.

The role will work with product and business stakeholders to ensure that web application features are practical, reliable, and aligned with user needs.

Technical Leadership And Mentoring

The position will provide technical leadership within the web development function.

Responsibilities may include advising on implementation approaches, reviewing code, sharing knowledge with other developers, assisting less experienced team members, documenting technical processes, and promoting consistent coding, testing, and deployment practices.
