Position Overview

The Budtender/Keyholder helps customers find the right products, educates them on cannabis and processes orders on our POS system. As keyholder, they also open and close the shop. Other duties include order fulfillment, stocking and secure ID checking. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Job Responsibilities

Budtender

- Identify and understand customer needs to provide appropriate product recommendations
- Contribute to cannabis sales through the effective presentation and explanation of each product's features and benefits
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction and encourage the development of ongoing client relationships
- Demonstrate effective time management and organization to ensure smooth shop operations
- Support team members: pick product and fulfill orders, process sales transactions and provide secure ID checking, as required
- Receive product deliveries, restock shelves and help keep the shop clean and organized
- Adhere to all company-defined procedures and operational and training standards, ensuring compliance
- Observe provincial regulations and requirements for the sale of cannabis and associated products,



including the socially responsible sale of cannabis, rules related to the sale of cannabis, and legal and compliance responsibilities for cannabis retailers
- Act in accordance with the law and demonstrate honesty and integrity

Keyholder

- Open and close the shop, following all alarm, security and cash procedures
- Count and balance cash at the start and end of each shift
- Act as the point person on shift when the Retail Store Manager is off-site

Qualifications Required

- 19 years of age or older (provincial minimum)
- Valid CannSell certification
- Satisfactory pre-employment criminal background check, based on AGCO requirements
- 1 year of experience in a customer-focused environment with responsibility to achieve sales targets
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and diplomatically to resolve customer concerns
- General knowledge of and motivation to learn about cannabis products
- Experience working with different technologies, including POS terminals and tablets
- Comfortable handling cash and being trusted with store keys and security
- Flexible to work various shifts in an extended-hour environment, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Must be able to lift, stack and carry 35 lb (15.9 kg)

Assets

- Previous keyholder or supervisory experience
- Cannabis retail experience
