Overview

Muses Academy is looking for caring, patient, and responsible After-School Teachers to join our team in Burnaby.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising elementary school students after school, providing homework assistance, organizing educational and recreational activities, and creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.

We welcome applicants with experience in childcare, education, tutoring, daycare, or after-school programs. Both full-time and part-time positions are available.

Location: Burnaby, BC (Kingsway area)
Job Type: Full time / Part-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, primarily afternoons
Language Requirements: English; Mandarin and Cantonese are an asset.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and care for elementary school students after school.
- Assist students with homework, reading, and academic practice.
- Organize and lead indoor activities, games, and arts and crafts.
- Maintain classroom discipline and ensure students' safety.
- Assist with snacks, personal belongings, and classroom organization.




- Communicate effectively with parents and fellow teachers.
- Assist with student pick-up arrangements and daily routines.
- Support Pro-D Day programs, camps, and special events when needed.

Qualifications

- Enjoy working with children and demonstrate patience and responsibility.
- Previous experience in childcare, tutoring, teaching, daycare, camps, or after-school programs is an asset.
- Educational background in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Education, Childcare, or a related field is preferred.
- Good English communication skills are required.
- Mandarin and/or Cantonese language skills are an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Available to work weekday afternoons on a consistent basis.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 22.0 per week
