WHAT YOU’LL DO

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance, the Senior Accountant supports accounting and information reliability through the implementation, maintenance and expansion of the management information system, the financial accounting and reporting system, and the internal controls of the accounting function.

Key accountabilities include:

· Contributing to the support of the corporate vision, direction and overall corporate objectives which will allow the company to take full advantage of the long-range potential of the business and its collective capabilities

· Executing our month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciling account details, and preparing timely, accurate, and reliable financial statements

· Managing our cost accounting, including maintaining standard costs and analyzing and explaining manufacturing variances

· Participating in directing all functions in production cost accounting, including the attachment of all material, labour and overhead costs to raw material, work in process, finished inventory, and expense work orders

· Identifying and implementing improvements in accounting processes





· Working with operations and purchasing on transactional issues

· Providing leadership to the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and work order costing staff

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

· Solid attention to detail and analytical skills

· Bachelor’s degree majoring in a business-related area (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration)

· CPA designation

· Work experience in a unionized environment processing financial activities including accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger processing

· Special accreditation and/or training in management information systems, and Microsoft Office software would be an asset

· Experience with both costing and financial accounting

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
