Paulson & Ferraton Law Office is recruiting an Associate Lawyer for its office in Wynyard, Saskatchewan. The firm has longstanding roots in the community and a general practice serving individuals, families, farms, and local businesses. Work in a beautifully refurbished historic office that preserves the character and history of a traditional Saskatchewan law practice while offering a distinctive and inspiring professional setting. We are looking for a lawyer who appreciates rural Saskatchewan, understands rural people, values rural life and solid community relationships, and wants to put down long-term roots in Wynyard. The opportunity includes working with large and growing farm businesses on land transactions, financing, succession, and corporate matters: substantial work from a small-community base. What is the practice?

We are looking for a skilled and experienced generalist. Your practice should include several of the areas below. You are not expected to practice in all of them; we will discuss how your strengths fit the office’s clients and the wider group.

· Residential, commercial, and agricultural real estate, financing, and conveyancing;

· Wills, powers of attorney, estate administration, probate and succession planning;

· Civil litigation and dispute resolution;

· Family law, including separation, parenting, support, and property matters;





· Corporate and commercial law, including business transactions;

· Employment law, workplace advice, and employment disputes.

Who will thrive at Paulson & Ferraton?

· A lawyer with at least 5 years of post-call experience, but exceptional candidates with 8+ years of generalist experience are also encouraged to apply;

· We particularly welcome a lawyer from Wynyard or the surrounding area, with a rural background, established local connections, and a genuine understanding and appreciation of rural people and rural life;

You must bring an established private practice that you have built and maintained. You know how to manage files, serve clients and develop business in a law firm. You now want to grow that practice with better support, effective delegation, and less administrative work. Firm clients and referrals will supplement and broaden the practice you bring.

· Strong drafting, file management, negotiation, client communication and professional judgment;

· Comfort handling matters independently while knowing when to collaborate or refer a specialist issue;

· A service-oriented approach, commercial awareness, and the drive to build lasting client relationships;

· A commitment to the Procido Standard of Excellence, which includes among other things: responsible file economics, effective delegation, timely billing, collections follow-through, and excellent client outcomes.

How will I be supported in Wynyard?

Paulson & Ferraton Law Office retains its own legal identity and local client relationships. Procido Management Inc., as leader of the Procido Group of law firms, provides the following operational support:

· Billing and collections support from the accounts manager, including oversight of monthly trust and bank-account reports;

· Accounting support from the in-house accountants, including bank-account oversight and reconciliations; separate trust accounts and records are maintained for each firm;

· Payroll, benefits and employment-remittance administration for local support staff through Procido Management Inc.;

· Human resources and management support from the Chief Administrative Officer and Managing Partner;

· Local legal-assistant support and receptionist,



supported by the group’s employment administration;

· Collaboration, file referrals, and appropriate legal support from Procido lawyers working across the offices;

· Clio, Adobe, and Microsoft expenses are administered by Procido Management Inc.

Professional independence, confidentiality, conflicts, and trust obligations remain paramount. Group-wide marketing, a new website, dedicated IT troubleshooting, cybersecurity services, and standardized document systems are part of the shared services provided in Wynyard.

What is the compensation?
Annual base salary is negotiable, and will depend on factors including: experience, areas of practice, and the practice you bring. The Firm also has performance incentives under the Associate Compensation Guidelines including:

· graduated bonuses of 20%–45% on credited collected legal fees over and above defined thresholds;

· origination incentives for qualifying work delegated to colleagues;

· performance-based salary reviews; and

· discretionary recognition for exceptional contribution.

Eligibility and payment are governed by the Associate Compensation Guidelines which can be disclosed and discussed with the right candidate.

What is the career progression?

Build toward Senior Associate, with the possibility of purchasing shares in Paulson & Ferraton Law Office Inc. This prospect depends on performance, suitability, and separately negotiated terms.
