GYM1 Small Group Training Coach

One Health Clubs | Mississauga, ON
Full-time and part-time opportunities | $25–$45 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Bring your coaching skills to GYM1

Can you lead a room with confidence while still noticing the member who needs a little extra help?

One Health Clubs is looking for an experienced coach to join GYM1, our small group training program. We want someone who brings energy to every session, understands how to coach proper movement, and makes members feel welcome from their first workout.

You’ll help members of different fitness levels build strength, improve conditioning, and develop the confidence to keep progressing.

What makes GYM1 different?

GYM1 combines the energy of group training with the attention members need to train well. With a maximum of 16 members and a 4:1 member-to-coach ratio, you have time to coach technique, adapt movements, and help each member get more from their workout.

Members train at individual stations equipped with Keiser equipment, so there’s no sharing equipment or waiting for someone else to finish. That means smoother sessions and more time spent training.

With structured programming provided, you can focus on delivering great coaching, building relationships, and helping members progress.

What we offer

- $25–$45 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- Provided workout programming, so you can focus on preparing for and delivering great sessions.
- A consistent coaching schedule, allowing you to build relationships with members over time.

- Paid onboarding and ongoing training in our programming, equipment, and coaching standards.
- Complimentary club membership and onsite parking.
- Opportunities for professional development and growth within One Health Clubs.

What you’ll do

- Lead engaging, well-organized small group training sessions using GYM1’s established programming.
- Demonstrate exercises clearly, explain movements, and keep sessions running smoothly.
- Actively coach throughout each session, identifying technique issues and providing useful, respectful corrections.
- Offer appropriate regressions and progressions so members can train safely and be challenged at their level.
- Learn members’ names, welcome new participants, and build a community people want to return to.
- Review workouts in advance and arrive at least 15 minutes before class to prepare the studio and greet members.
- Keep the studio and equipment clean, organized, and ready for the next session.
- Participate in team meetings and continuing education, and maintain all required certifications.

Who we’re looking for

You’re comfortable leading a group, and you know that great coaching requires individual attention. You can keep the energy up while watching technique,

managing transitions, and supporting someone who is new to training.

You bring:

- Experience coaching small group training, semi-private sessions, or group fitness, ideally with at least two years in the fitness industry.
- A current, recognized personal training and/or group fitness certification relevant to the role.
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification.
- A strong understanding of exercise technique, movement modifications, and safe progression.
- Clear communication, confidence speaking to a group, and a friendly, approachable coaching style.
- Reliability, punctuality, and pride in delivering a consistently robust experience.
- Availability for early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.

A diploma or degree in Fitness, Kinesiology, Health, or a related field is an asset.

One Health Clubs welcomes applications from qualified candidates of all backgrounds. Accommodations are available upon request throughout the recruitment process.
