Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

The LPN requires the ability to tolerate constant walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching and sustained posture within a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, pulling of objects as described in the job classification of “heavy physical demand. The ability to have N95 fit testing and “It’s your move” certification is required. Recent experience in an acute care setting. Must be able to communicate in verbal and written English. The ability to work as a member of a team and request and accept direction is required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills with patients/families, visitors, and team members. Well-developed time management and organizational skills. Basic computer skills. Demonstrate accountability, critical thinking, interpersonal communication skills required, and commitment to collaborative practice.

Preferred Qualifications:

ACLS, Lead II, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, EPIC ENPEP. Ability to contribute as a team member, learn within a dynamic environment, and adapt/cope with change. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate preferred.
