Cook for residents in Extendicare long-term care homes while supporting safe, respectful daily dining. Bring food preparation and compliance expertise to this part-time position.

As a Cook, you will prepare and deliver foods for residents, guests, and employees while working in a position of trust with vulnerable adults. You will follow health and safety legislation, dietary policies, standardized recipes, and budget requirements. The work includes therapeutic diets, temperature records, menu substitutions, and participation in meetings and training. A second language is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities:

- Serve foods properly and attractively for planned menus
- Apply proper food handling techniques throughout preparation
- Prepare therapeutic foods according to planned menus




- Follow dietary policies, regulations, and protected job procedures
- Attend department meetings, in-services, and required training

Requirements:

- Food Handler's Certificate required
- Large-quantity food preparation experience required
- Knowledge of Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating
- Experience with special and therapeutic diets
- Ability to lift and transfer heavy, hot items
