Senior Software Engineer - Electricity Markets

About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a DevOps-focused engineer to develop and maintain practices and infrastructure for a highly available Electricity Market Management System (MMS). You will work with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to software implementation, troubleshooting, customization, and integration with GE and customer systems.

Responsibilities

- Lead the evolution of on-premise, container-based deployment infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines and security chain-of-custody protocols.
- Architect and maintain build infrastructure using tools such as Ansible, Maven, Jenkins, and Artifactory, and evaluate additional tooling.
- Advise customers on infrastructure-as-code practices and support on-site product deployments.
- Work with software developers to implement, integrate, and validate system changes against customer requirements.
- Provide technical oversight across the project lifecycle, including system monitoring, defect resolution, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot complex issues, document resolution guidance, and track systemic issues.




- Coordinate with product development, customers, and project teams, and apply implementation, governance, and security standards.
- Mentor team members on DevOps practices.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in on-premise deployment, DevOps/CI/CD, software development, or enterprise system integration.
- At least 3 years of experience managing Kubernetes deployments and microservices architecture.
- Willingness to travel 10–20% of the time.

Additional Qualifications

- Experience with ArgoCD, Helm, and Red H Linux environments.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Prometheus, or Jaeger.
- Exposure to OpenShift and Docker, and experience mentoring or leading technical teams.
